Infant Care
The Learning Garden provides child care for infants starting at 6 weeks old.
Our primary goal in our infant rooms is to create a loving, nurturing environment that provides a home away from home feeling. Individual attention is important to us so all of our infant rooms maintain a 4:1 child to teacher ratio.
Leaving your infant in someone else’s care can be very difficult for families. We understand this and want to make the transition as easy as possible for you and your child. We encourage all new families to start with a tour. There you can see how the center operates and see the infant rooms in action. Before your infant’s first day, we’ll make a point of learning as much as we can about your baby, their schedule, their likes and dislikes. With all this information, we can ensure your child enjoys their time with us.
The infant 1 classroom are designed for our very young, less mobile babies. Snuggling, rocking, soothing and engaging your baby are some of the daily activities in these rooms.
Infant 2 classrooms were created for our more mobile babies. As they are more able to engage in activities, you will find your baby enjoying circle time, songs, stories and stretching. Open ended art projects, such as, painting, cool whip and pudding play, are introduced.
Daily Schedule
In addition to each room being equipped with an iPad for texting/emailing and sharing of photos with parents, daily reports are provided for all infant rooms so that parents know how their child ate, slept and played each day. Each of our infant rooms has a slightly different schedule that has been tailored to their age group but the schedule below will provide a general idea of our little ones day.
